Hi! I'm Jennifer Royal and welcome to A Royal Affair Photography.

Nearly 3 decades ago, I started cultivating a creative dream. Looking more closely at my family, friends, and even strangers around me, I began to see life in moments. The family walking together down the street laughing, that mom bending over to clean her little's ones messy face, a new couple walking hand in hand as they started their love story. They all became beautiful moments - moments that I wanted to capture so the love and joy in that instant could be remembered forever.

Fast forward nearly 25 years later . . . I finally splurged and treated myself to my first "real" camera in the hopes that I would capture those beautiful moments for my family - 8th grade dances, softball games, marching band competitions, proms, graduations, boyfriends, and beyond. And that is how it all began.

Then one day, my best friend asked me to capture some Senior Portraits for her son, the fall of his senior year. Nervously, I took on the challenge, and A Royal Affair Photography was born. Tragically, we lost him just a few years later, but those images - my very first images - still remain. And now, more than ever, I understand just how important capturing beautiful moments in life truly is. Big moments, small moments, monumental moments, celebratory moments, sad moments - no moment captured in life is insignificant. I will always be learning skills, developing my "style", growing my business, and flowing and changing with all the technical aspects of photography. In the midst of all of those changes I will always hold firm to the creative dream that began all those years ago - Capture the beautiful living moments around me.
